The Insights Network is a collaboration of a number of London Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) that require a single portal to analyse data that is important to them. The data will allow the members to grasp an understanding of the quality of care being delivered in their area by means of a variety of sources such as social media extractions to NHS Choices. This data will be placed in a dashboard format with deep dive capabilities that will allow each of the CCGs to analyse the providers they are interested in.

This will include extractions from a range of data collections:

  • NHS Choices
  • NHS Opinion
  • Safety Thermometer
  • NHS Friends and Family Test tool
  • PROMs
  • PREMs
  • Social Media (Facebook, Twitter)
  • CQC Data

The Network portal maintenance and data analysis will be undertaken by the Quality Observatory team, based in Horley, Surrey. The Quality Observatory (QO) was established in 2008 as a requirement from the NHS Next Stage Review. The core values of the QO are to provide analytical arrangements to enable local benchmarking, development of metrics, informatics and development support. This in turn allows for assisted decision making and evidence based working to improve the quality of care we provide to our patients. We work with front-line staff to innovate and improve the services they provide.
